Tirupati is visited by Hindus from all over the world to take darshan of Lord Vishnu of his incarnation Lord Srinivas Temple at the Tirupati Temple. People commonly call this place as Balaji. There are seven hills in the city of Tirupati that resemble a snake when viewed from the top. The Tirumala Temple also known as the Tirupati Temple is situated in the last of the seven hills that looks like the hood of a snake. Tirupati is known all over the world for its Tirupati Balaji Temple and Sri Venkateshwara Temple.

According to the legend Lord Balaji at Tirupati had approached Kuber the God of Wealth for money for his royal marriage, with the promise of returning the same with interest. It is believed that Lord Balaji is still collecting the money since then at this temple. It is for this reason devotees are offering jewelry, gold and money to Lord Balaji to pay back kuber in the form of interest which has been increasing with the passage of time. There are devotees who offer their hair at this temple.

The best time to visit Tirupati is during the festival of Brahmotsavam in the month of September which is one of the biggest religious carnivals of the world.

Tirupati Trains are well connected to and operated from all the major cities in India. Trains from Mumbai take about 23 hours to reach this city. When you travel from Hyderabad the duration is 12 hours. The maximum Tirupati Trains are from Hyderabad and Bangalore. The minimum time duration of travel is from Chennai to Tirupati. You can also travel by road as the state operated buses are very frequently operated.

It is very easy to get accommodation in Tirupati as there are many different types of hotel with all amenities near the surrounding of the temple’s premises at the downhill, Tirupati town.
