Teaching is considered as the noblest job all around the world. A teacher is hence respected and looked up everywhere irrespective of the field, region, language, etc. With the changing scenario the teachers also need to change a bit to be able to match up the changing scenario. It’s time to not just be a teacher but to be a good and popular teacher. Following are the tips that might help you gain huge popularity-
1. Don’t be too strict: Gone are the days when students would listen to you due to your strictness. These days students have lots of other options. They might go for online course, home schooling or a different school. If you really want your students to listen to you, don’t be too strict. Your students would love it, respect you for that and would also listen to you. Be as frank as possible, while maintaining your professional code of conduct. This way your students will feel comfortable in asking simplest of simple doubts to you and they won’t even hesitate in sharing their other thoughts. It is very important ...
... in the present scenario as students are more susceptible to anti social activities.
2. Go online: The entire world has gone online so what are you waiting for. Teach students through online courses. Interact with them over chats, blogs, forums etc. This trend has gained huge popularity very recently. It has emerged as a very powerful tool for creating an interface between students and teachers. Many students who lack confidence or those who hesitate in talking in public feel free while interacting with the teachers over internet. They ask their doubts freely this way and teachers also gain popularity not among just the known students but also among the international student as social media acts as a magic multiplier of messages.
3. Make your class interactive: Never give lectures, always facilitate study sessions. Make your class interactive. There is no point in shooting in air. Make sure that your students stay excited and participate in the class. Ask them questions, reply to their doubts. Conduct sessions in the form of discussions. This way your students will stay focused, charged up and grasp most of what you would teach them.
4. Stay charged up all the time: No matter whether it is the first period of the day or the last. You must stay charged up. The energy level you carry in the class is transferred to the students too. You can’t stay exhausted, lean back in the chair and expect your students to sit erect and focused. Be energetic and charged up so that your students also feel excited and listen to you attentively.
5: Do your homework: It is very important to do the home study. Prepare your notes for the next day session. Brace yourself with adequate amount of knowledge everyday to be able to solve the doubts raised by smartest of smart students. Check the answer sheets of students if you have any. Just like students doing homework on time is very important for the teachers too.
