You should take a close look at people you know to have been in rehab before. They are so careful about all they do. All the time they look to you like they are walking on eggshells. Perhaps you never knew it, but the conditions in there are kind of rough and tough; certainly not a place to catch a break, but you'd agree it's better off than being a regular drunk.

You have heard of diabetes, the way it sticks on you once you catch it? Well, you can think of alcoholism as something like that. It never really goes away, and you have to spend the whole of your life being watchful not to fall back into the habit, even with the help of a rehab center.

You could become an alcoholic simply because your dad or mum was one. It ain't fair, but it is so. So if you want to break the trend, cut it off in your system before you genetically pass it to the next generation also. Quit drinking, enroll in rehab.

Most alcohol treatment centers insist that you sever all ties with the outside world while you are in. they argue that any distraction might hamper your healing process. Makes you sort of wonder if you would not have ...
... been better of in prison; at least those guys get to move around and watch TV. Well, you're dead wrong.

The treatment for alcoholism cannot be taken with levity. Quitting has got to be sudden, abrupt and total. Anything short of this can only result in a relapse that could send you back to rehab, ruining all the hard work they did the first time. Certainly this is not something you want to be looking forward to.

Alcoholism refers to any condition which causes you to consume any form of alcohol to excess. There is no need to get all flamboyant about a complex definition. Once you're hooked, you're hooked and the best way out is through rehab. Or can you think of another?

The best thing you can do at an alcohol treatment center is to relax and allow yourself to be treated. There might come the questions first, which you must answer truthfully; then there will certainly be your first dinner and your first night. Get through this and the next morning brings the beginning of your stay. Pray it's short; pray your body does not take too long to adjust to the absence of alcohol, or else, you might be in for an unpleasant stay.

Many people view rehab as a nasty place to be, considering the stigma of lives spiraling out of control that are constantly in there. This view however, couldn't be more wrong. More focus instead should be placed on the condition of the patients when the come out of the facility, not when they go in. Then they would see that rehab really is a blessing.
