Many places in Denmark have set up centers for disposing waste. People are encouraged to use clear plastic for filling up waste and not black bags, as was used originally. It is not easy to see through these black plastic bags which make it difficult to segregate waste products. There is a strict rule implemented in all parts of Denmark that black bags can no longer be used in Losseplads. This rule is strictly implemented in Kolding, Haderslev and Vejle apart from other municipal centers.

Reusing and recycling waste is a great way to deal with waste products. People are encouraged to consume fewer products. When redesigning, care should be taken to produce less pollution and waste in the manufacturing process. Products that are developed should be easy to repair or recycle. Care should be taken to ensure that it can be remanufactured or converted into compost. The material waste that is dumped in landfills should not produce chemicals that can contaminate the groundwater. These are just some of the things that can be done to reduce waste and efficiently recycle and reuse products.

In Denmark the waste policy ...
... takes into account the prevention as well as handling of waste. Many regional and local communities take charge of administrations of waste management practically. Private companies rent their vehicles or handle the task of sorting and segregation of waste after collecting them from centers that are set up for the purpose. Recycling ensures that the resources in waste are better exploited. Incineration is not counted as recycling in Denmark.

Landfill or losseplads does not exploit the resources in waste and incineration is banned in these places. There is a danger that this may lead to pollution in the atmosphere. Collection of industrial waste is contracted to private companies. Traders pay for delivering their waste to these centers. Care is taken to ensure that the waste that fills up landfill is reduced from the current 26% to less than 15%. Separate schemes are being selected by the Danish Environmental Protection Agency to focus on certain waste types. The treatment techniques for shifting waste from landfill to repair and reuse are also being prioritized.

The public and private institutions and enterprises that work to collect recyclable materials and waste play an important role in the effort of reducing waste and reusing products. This ensures that the landfills are not filled with harmful toxic material. The waste is segregated and different materials are recycled from offices and catering centers. A large amount of waste comes from cardboard, glass, plastic and paper. The other types of waste include tires, electronic and electric equipment.

Private companies take care to use the right size bins and educate the public on proper segregation of waste products that can be recycled. These items are put in clear plastic bags to enable better sorting at the centers. The paper and cardboard from institutions and offices are collected and reused or recycled. These companies are reliable and work behind the scenes to ensure that the environment is clean and the people live healthier lives.
