This quaint village of Mijas Pueblo is a typical Andalucian village located close to Sierra de Mijas. It offers a most unique atmosphere with narrow cobbled streets and whitewashed homes. It may seem strange to many that a traditional Andalucian village would be a preferred holiday destination but it is not surprising with the quaint traditions and rich culture that exude in this place. It can be quite crowded during peak seasons with thousands of tourists flocking in. These visitors come from all across the land and region by coaches and cars while many fly in to the nearest airport before making their way by the local coaches.

It is the beautiful natural landscapes around Mijas that draw thousands to it every year. The fresh air around its lush countryside allows visitors to stroll and relax as one discovers the village in all its simplicity and endearing fascination.

Major Attractions

One of the main attractions of Mijas Pueblo is bullfighting. This has been noted from old as more than a sport; it is a long held tradition that attracts many to Mijas. The Mijas bullring may be just a smaller version of ...
... other bullrings around Spain but it is the pride of the village as Spain’s most ancient ring in a unique quadrangular exterior.

There are a couple of ancient monuments that go as far back as the 16th century. The Concepción church sports a most impressive architecture with an ancient wall and a well maintained garden that is great for a stroll. The Peña Virgin sanctuary is a magnificent 17th century structure that is open to public viewing.

Unique donkey-taxis make a delightful experience to all visitors who want a quaint experience in this lively village of Mijas.
The village boasts of beautiful soft sandy beaches that draw many for a picnic, swim or indulge in some water activities. This quaint traditional village of Mijas Pueblo at Costa del Sol is worthy of a visit to complete a fantastic holiday in Spain.
