Even though hyperhidrosis is a problem that affects .1% of the population, hyperhidrosis is a very big issue and embarrassment for those who have it. Some have never heard of hyperhidrosis while others deal with its unwelcoming affects each day. Hyperhidrosis is a genetically inherited excessive sweating problem that typically starts at adolescence. This problem has been closely related to the hyperactivity of the sympathetic nervous system. This problem cannot only be embarrassing but also socially disabling. Excessive sweating that is very challenging to control can greatly affect individuals in social situations and work situations. This can have a large negative impact on your social life including romantic relationships. It can also have a large negative impact on work life. If you have to meet with clients or entertain or host customers, hyperhidrosis can create a massive challenge. Locations on the body where hyperhidrosis happens vary greatly but no matter where they happen, most of the time embarrassment and anxiety follows.

So how can this problem be solved for the unfortunate individuals who suffer? The answer ...
... is different for each unique individual. Some people can overcome hyperhidrosis without surgery and others simply cannot. For those who cannot overcome this problem without surgery, the only way to fix hyperhidrosis is to get a small procedure done called ETS. This surgery is very minor and hardly invasive, but for severe hyperhidrosis sufferers, it is a necessary procedure. Making a decision on surgery is always a tough one but this decision is easy for many because of the tremendous benefits the surgery brings.

There are a bunch of types of hyperhidrosis. Each type has its own issues and brings problems to certain areas of the body. One of the most common types of hyperhidrosis is palmer hyperhidrosis. This is sweaty hands. People have this problem a lot as it is the most common type of hyperhidrosis. Palmer hyperhidrosis has many symptoms and consequences as a result of these symptoms. Below is a list of signs that you may have palmer hyperhidrosis.
• Difficulty grasping objects
• Difficulty holding a pen, running ink
• Papers becoming wet in their hands
• Cold, cool hands
• Bluish, purplish discoloration of hands • Wiping hands constantly
• Difficulty focusing
• Difficulty handling paper

As you can imagine, all these symptoms lead to some problems in social and professional life. The most common problem that most worry about is having sweaty hands when shaking hands with another person. The handshake is the backbone of a new relationship between Americans, and nothing is worse than starting a new relationship with a soaking wet exchange between hands. Though this is the most feared part of palmer hyperhidrosis, this excessive hand sweating has much greater consequences than just a sweaty handshake. Other types of hyperhidrosis include facial, axillary and pedal hyperhidrosis. These types may be less common, but carry their own large set of issues. If you or a friend has any type of hyperhidrosis, there is no need to panic or get real upset. There is viable and good solution and it is just important to understand your options and make a choice the best benefits you and your lifestyle.
