Uses:

We need Ferro alloys greatly as it is very effective for the deoxidization of metals and anti corrosion. The alloys are made in controlled temperature. The uses are wide and vast. These alloys can be used in the various fields of chemical production. These are also used in the production of electrical equipments and gadgets and for the welding of electrodes. This sector produced a good amount of ...
... alloy even at the time of global meltdown.

Major manufacturing units of Ferro alloy:

The units of Ferro alloys are mainly located in the eastern region of our country. The major Ferro alloy units are located in West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. The ports by which the Ferro alloys are generally been exported are located mainly in Kolkata, Haldia and Vishakhapatnam.

What proves a threat to the production?

Though, it is one of the important products in the core sector of India, the production sometimes get halted due to many reasons. Proper amount of electricity is one of the reasons behind the less production of Ferro alloys in India.

Many times, it has been seen that the manufacturer have to stop the production of the alloy due to major failure in power supply. High tariff of power associated with power cut is the major hindrance of the production of Ferro alloy in DVC area in West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh. These factors are hitting this sector very badly.
