Knowing how to calculate the poker odds in a game of Texas Holdem is a significant part of playing the game in Germany and being a winner. In the case described above you have a high number of outs, so your pot odds will have a good ratio. Think of the odds in terms of ratio. A ratio of 2:1 is not as good as 3:1. You do need to have a ratio of at least 2.4:1 before you call another German poker player at the table.

In calculating the odds to determine whether you raise, call or fold, you also have to look at the size of the pot to determine how much you would win. It must be large enough for you to increase your winnings so that you have a little extra for the hands that you lose. The key to playing the odds is to pay into the pot when you know you have a good hand and to fold when the cards are not in your favour.

There are also implied odds that you have to take into consideration. This involves the number of outs you have and the amount of money in the pot, but it also takes the bets of the players into consideration in calculating how much these bets will increase the pot. Some players raise on the flop so that they can call on the turn if they do not get better cards by this time. It takes time to be able to calculate the odds when you are sitting at the table with other German players, but the more you play the better you will become at this technique.
