These days, youngsters are getting increasingly interested in taking up a career in showbiz. The reason behind such tendencies are simple,to get name, fame and needless to say money, as the world of glamour offers lucrative remuneration. Also being in the showbiz can make youngsters social icons whom people are very much interested in. Acting and modeling are two career paths which leads to the showbiz. Youngsters who are into modeling often get to work in films. So, in a way,modeling is no different from film world,it leads to films ultimately. There are many such institutes who offer courses on acting, the famous National School of Drama offer courses in acting which has produced many great artists from the industry.

The first step forward in the direction of acting is getting selected  for T.V.channels or to work in Televisions. From television, one can graduate to films. Now a days a variety of channels have made their way to television. It opens up numerous opportunities for upcoming actors to showcase their talents.

As regards modeling, one has to be formally trained. Modeling is of three types -print modelling, ramp modelling and television modelling. To walk in a ramp, it requires thorough training and courage as lots of people watch models on live.

The success of advertising and fashion industry has created huge demand for models in India and abroad. There is an unprecedented growth of modeling industry in present times. Various national cum international companies seek model for endorsement purpose, so there is a continued demand for models. Fashion designers often need models to exhibit their collections. An acting course can cost you anywhere from Rs.35,000 and Rs.1,50,000. while for a course in modeling you might have to spend from Rs.20,000-Rs.25,000. Scholarship are sometimes offered in acting, but there is no scholarship exists in modeling.

There is no lack of job opportunities both the fields if somebody is talented enough, but modeling is not a permanent career though one can earn enough money as a model. Also it is highly competitive. Both the fields demand total dedication in order to become successful and well known.
