Tignes, Ski Resort In France With Over 300 Kilometers Of Pistes

The resort was less pedestrian friendly, whereas the Tignes of today is quiet with walkers and skiers going wherever they wish. The main street was placed underground, making traffic problems no longer a worry. Other than the bars and discos at night, you'll feel more a part of nature than ever before. Some of the older buildings still have the ambiance of the 60s era, but as government grants pour in, the buildings are undergoing improvements.

Tignes, France is one of the high Alps resorts that are not limited to individual slopes. There are over 300 kilometer of pistes and five interconnected ski areas. These five, Les Boisses, Val Claret, Tignes le Lavachet, Les Brevieres and Tignes Le Lac, are spread out all over the upper and lower valleys. One thing that most people don't know before they arrive in Tignes is that its connected to both Val D'Isere and Espace Killy.

All levels of skiers to Tignes will find plenty of runs to match their wits. Tignes, as you may very well know, has regained its status and popularity with locals and outsiders alike. However, be rest assured that you'll always have plenty of space ...
... to improve your skills. Plus, you won't find all the rocky terrain found in other, even nearby, ski resorts. There are over 20 kilometers of marked trails, too boot, but you'll have trouble finding anything worthy of being cross-country. The altitude here keeps the trees in the distance.

Other activity options will never run thin as the cross-country trails. There are over ten holiday centers, a couple clubs, tons of hotels and apartments to rent. The Grande Motte Glacier proffers more than a thousand meters of skiing over eight months a year. Additionally, there is plenty to do for the snowboarders of the group. If you boarders aren't interested in quarter pipes and boarder crosses, then the halfpipe will keep you jumping all day long. Other activities are not limited to bowling, ice-skating, hang gliding, snowshoeing, basketball, ice climbing, ice diving and heliskiing. If you're into adventure in addition to skiing, Tignes ski resort will give you what you seek.

The apres ski venues match the activity liveliness too. There are discos, bars, restaurants and a sports center. There's a cinema that plays recent flicks. There is plenty of shopping in the 125 stores. You can send your mail from the post office and get money from any number of banks. You can go to church to save your soul or go to the clubs to seek your mate. Either choice is offered and is a valid holiday escape.

Though it may seem that Tignes France is only for the party seekers, it in actuality is catered to the family just as much. There are some great places to take kids to eat, to play and to get watched, if you need to get away with friends for a few hours. The bunny hills, additionally, offer some nice training. You can even sign the little ones up at one of the local ski schools, specializing in getting your children up and down the slopes safely but in style. Lessons are not too expensive and will give your kids enough time to really learn not just the skill but additionally the art of skiing.

Tignes is part of the L'Espace Killy ski area, so one pass can be purchased for all. An adult pass for one day will cost around €40 while a six-day ski pass costs €190, where children will pay around €140. If you've come to Tignes in the last three seasons, you can get a nice discount with receipt proof. You can get seasonal passes much cheaper, but you'll want to make sure to have plenty of days off to take advantage of the skiing as the prices are not cheap. The ski season has shown some great snowfall, so grab those skis and get ready to hit the slopes in Tignes.
