Liners are widely used in all types of industrial packaging, where bulk material has to be packed for inland or overseas shipping. The liner is expected to provide weatherproofing as well as to withstand the transportation.

These liners are generally made from various grades of polyethylene (PE). Manufacturers are often struck in the dilemma of quality and cost as the virgin polymer has grown increasingly costly but gives best quality products.

On the other hand, using recycled polymers or filler in polymers is very cost effective but reduces the quality. But recycling polymers comes with its own difficulties.

First and foremost, recycled polymers invariably have poorer physical properties compared to the virgin polymers.
