The spectacular Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan is spread over 1334 km square, bordered by rocky ridges. The park is famous for the Wildlife Sanctuary of the same name, which is the union of the wildlife, history and nature. In the center of the park is the 10th century Ranthambore Fort, and scattered nearby are ancient temples and mosques, lakes full of crocodiles and chhatris. In 1955, Ranthambore National Park was declared a wildlife sanctuary. Some years later, in 1980 earned the status of a National Park. During 1984, the northeast and southern forests and sanctuaries were declared Keladevi Sawai Man Singh.

Clothing: Ranthambore weather changes from extreme heat during the day in summer and extreme cold at night in winter. In summer wear comfortable lightweight cotton in neutral earth tones. A good pair of walking shoes or boots is essential. In winter jackets, sweatshirts, wool sweaters, scarves and gloves are mandatory.
• Essential equipment: Take precautions before traveling under the sun. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, umbrellas and a wide-brimmed hat.

Shopping: Tourists wishing shopping can visit the nearby town of Ranthambore. The paintings in the style of the Ranthambore School of Art are a favorite among tourists. The paintings depict mostly tigers, inspired by Tiger Project, which aims to conserve the species. Rules to be observed within the Ranthambore National Park
•Playing radios, tape recorders and musical devices such as transistors within the park is not allowed.
•Vehicles must remain on designated routes within the park.
•Vehicles must stay within the speed limit.
•Loud noises, like shouting and talking is prohibited should be kept at a low volume.
•Disturbing the animals or birds throwing stones at them, etc. is prohibited.
•Do not wear bright colors. - Earth colors, browns and greens are preferred.
•The Law on Wildlife Protection of India is in force in the area of the Park and its violation will be punished strictly.

•Carrying firearms is prohibited within the park
•Walking or hiking in the park is not allowed. You must stay in your vehicle.
•No vehicles are allowed to stay in the park before or after safari times.
