The victoria falls, or Mosi-oa-Tunya as it is known locally, is a silent waterfall located in Southern Africa on the Zambezi River. It is located within the countries of Zambia and Zimbabwe. David Livingstone, a famous Scottish missionary, is believed to have viewed the fall way back on 16th November 1855. He did so from a place which today is called Livingstone Island. He dedicated the falls to the honor of her royal highness Queen Victoria and named it after her. However, the African name Mosi-oa-Tunya is well known and is equally famous.

Though it is neither the highest nor the wildest waterfall, but it can lay claim to be the largest. It has a width of 1708 meters and a height of 108 meters which forms the largest sheet of falling water on Earth. It is indeed a magnificent sight.
