Over the many years of exercises and workouts the abs have been a huge marketing target, all the infomercials and the weird contraptions that look like they should be used as some sort of torture weapon. Yes, it is usually a love and hate relationship with the abdominal section of our bodies, we love to look at and want great abs, but we hate what we have to go through to get them. And it is with good reason, there have been so many broken promises out there in television land, we do not know who to trust anymore. The worst part about it is that we continue to get suckered into the same marketing pitch for different contraptions, and we throw hundreds of dollars away try to take the shortcut to the wonderful world of abs. The new fad that is coming to the market is supplements. You have seen the commercials, the ones where they have people running on the beach looking all good, and then they have a great young looking doctor come out and back their product, mostly because the company is cutting him or her a fat paycheck. How about we get rid of all the junk that we have heard, and strip the abs back down to the basics. ...
... It really is going to take hard work and a different way of eating to achieve great abs.

Let's start with the food you intake. Obviously if you are going out and eating fast food all the time, you might want to consider not doing that. I know it is quick, cheap and you can get so much food for a dollar, but it is not worth it! Not for your abs and more importantly, your heart. So put away the cheeseburgers, put away the candy bars and the sweets, you need to discipline yourself for good abs and a healthy lifestyle. Start cooking more of your meals, you can find so many great meals just in your supermarket that will save you money in the long run, rather than going out to eat all the time.

Next you need to workout, and I mean do some cardio; cardio is great for your abs and your heart. Along with your cardio workouts do some abdominal core workouts. Do some crunches, about 2 -3 reps of 10-20 or more. For your lower abs, do some leg raises. For the left and right side of your abs, do some side crunches. It is important to focus on the section that you are working out. Also make sure that your head and back is always supported, so you can prevent injury. So eat right, do cardio and core workouts.
