Amsterdam is one of the top tourist attractions in the World. Amsterdam is the capital of Netherlands and is located in the province of North Holland. The city has something for every kind off travelers across the world. Lovely canals, beautiful architecture, friendly people, Amsterdam red light district, great shopping, culture attractions and unrivaled nightlife admire everyone.

Amsterdam is a walkable city which has much to offer sightseers. Touring can be done on foot or by bicycle, a popular mode of transportation. You can view some of over 7,000 registered historic buildings, including two medieval wooden houses and the Oude Kerk, or Old Church, dating from 1306.

Amsterdam Attractions

Oude Kerk

The Oude Kerk (old church) is Amsterdam’s oldest parish church, consecrated in 1306 by the bishop of Utrecht with Saint Nicolas as its patron saint. It stands in De Wallen, now Amsterdam's main red-light district. The bust of famous organist and composer Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck celebrates the lifetime he spent playing here.

Westerkerk ...
...

The Westerkerk (western church) is a church of the Protestant Church in the Netherlands denomination in Amsterdam. It is next to Amsterdam's Jordaan district, on the bank of the Prinsengracht canal. The spire, called the Westertoren (western tower), is the highest church tower in Amsterdam, at 85 meters (279 feet). The crown topping the spire is the Imperial Crown of Austria of Maximilian I.

Flower Market

Lots of cities have flower markets, but Amsterdam's is uniquely different. Since the middle of the 19th century, this city of canals has boasted a floating flower market. Situated on the Singel Canal, one of the oldest canals in Amsterdam, this unusual flower market is the most famous in Holland.

Magna Plaza

This is Amsterdam’s first inner-city shopping mall which is much more than just a bunch of stores. Originally built in 1899, Magna Plaza was once Amsterdam’s Post Office building. It was designed by government architect P.C. Peters, who was known for creating ornate buildings such as this neo-Gothic / neo-Renaissance delight. It is architecturally stunning to the eye - both inside and out - and is unlike any shopping mall you'd encounter anywhere else in the world.

Jordaan

Formerly, it was a working-class quarter of Amsterdam, home to a large population of the city's immigrants, Jordaan has become one of Amsterdam's hippest places to live and work. If you're heading to Amsterdam, a walking tour of Jordaan is a must-do. There's so much to see here that reflects the rich history of the area.

A stroll through the narrow streets takes you past picturesque canals, art galleries, courtyards, historic homes boasting stone tablets that attest to the inhabitant's occupation, pubs, boutiques, and small markets.

Apart from the above mentioned sights, there are numerous other places to visit in Amsterdam.
