We all tend to vacuum every tiny thing on the carpet especially tiny household goods that could be lost in a vacuum easily. It isn’t difficult anymore to retrieve your lost objects. It doesn’t matter whether you have the best vacuum cleaner in India or not, there are certain steps to be followed which shall certainly prove helpful.

Have An old Panty Hose?

You would need a pair of a cheap panty hose. First of all grab your vacuum and stretch on it one leg of the pantyhose and secure it tight with the assistance of a rubber band. Then you simply need to vacuum over the area where you think you might have lost or dropped that screw, and you will be amazed to see that instead of being sucked into the vacuum it will obviously get caught in the pantyhose along with some dust of course. Which could be just tossed away? Hence, your item is easily retrieved.

Many people lose small essential items like the back of an earring or beads etc. this method is very helpful. Furthermore, a sock or leggings could also be used for this purpose.

What’s That Rattling Noise?

The moment you feel that you have ...
... lost something or it has been sucked by the vacuum, immediately turn the vacuum off. Now you need to listen closely to the sound of the vacuum cleaner. If it’s rattling or rumbling and you can sense an obstacle in the machinery, you certainly need to figure out why. This calls for immediate action hence preventing further damage to the machinery and also the object.

You could always double check for the lost items under the vacuum and sometimes objects actually don’t get pulled in and just rattle around. They might even fall off or come out on a little shaking or jiggling the hose. If your object still isn’t retrieved you then need to tilt the vacuum back and search in the brush roll on the bottom. Your desired lost object may be stuck or wrapped there in the brush.

If there isn’t any success even then, you can always take the storage bag out for further examination. Almost all vacuum cleaners have a hatch designed to empty dust, etc. Immediately search for the lost object in the storage bag which should be done wearing gloves as a preventive measure, you never know what else the bag might have in store. If the storage bag is a paper one, you could always slice it open for an elaborate search.

Then comes the question of common sense that, whether the injection was smaller or greater than the tube that connects the nozzle and the dust bag. If the object is smaller you could always hold the tube so the smaller object may simply fall out. You could use the back of a hanger or a hook to retrieve charger objects. Be very careful as to not to push the objects desired further and making it difficult for you.

Once you succeed, carefully try to turn on the vacuum cleaner and check for its sound, it should be smooth with no obstacle. However, if it’s making a nasty sound, then it’s time to call a repair guy. Big companies like Panasonic usually have their own repair people who fix everything for minimal wages.
