Cleansing Your Colon Naturally
There are many good reasons to begin a lifestyle of diet that will naturally cleanse your colon on a regular basis. For men in their fifties or higher, the risk of colon cancer makes this health priority a must as well as regular colonoscopies to make sure colon cancer has not set in. This insidious and life threatening disease can easily get started in a man's colon and move quickly before it might be detected without intervention. But the colonoscopy process is tedious and uncomfortable and it takes a day or so out of your schedule.
So many adults do not take the time to get the medical tests done at regular intervals. Whether you are one of those who is good about getting check ups or you are like most of us who procrastinate, good diet can go a long way toward cleansing your colon and keeping it functional and healthy for many years. While some might advocate resorting to drug induced colon cleaning or enemas, the best way to keep a clean and healthy colon is through diet.
Probably the quickest route to a completely clean colon that is still very natural is a fruit and vegetable juice fast for a couple ...
... weeks. This is still a somewhat difficult and extreme approach for most people but it is tremendously effective at cleaning the colon out while not going completely without nutrition. Using a one to two week fast that limits your intake to fruit and vegetable juices and putting yourself into that diet mode a couple times a year is also a great way to jump start a weight loss diet because you almost certainly will lose a good amount of weight with this program.
This kind of fast can perform a healthy cleaning of your colon. But for a lifestyle of daily colon health, there are foods to include in your diet that will naturally cleanse your colon while adding healthy and delicious ingredients to your mealtime planning. The key to great colon health is to include lots of fiber to your diet because fiber is God's natural way to cleanse your colon on a regular basis.
There are many good sources of fiber that occur in the natural foods you already may be enjoying. Bran cereals are good choices as are breads that are high in fiber. Green vegetables are a natural source as are some fruits. Blueberries and Goji are probably the most potent, fiber rich fruits you can consume. And since they are delicious and can be turned into a perfect breakfast juice drink, these fruits are a perfect way to cleanse your colon and have a sweet and enjoyable beverage at the same time.
