The Progressive cavity pumps transfer fluid through its cavity. These cavities are of same shape and are fixed. There are many cavities present in the pump and the fluid moves through these cavities. The fluid moves in the cavity pumps through a process called positive displacement. As the rotor rotates, the distinct set of cavities also rotates. The fluid flows in this manner in the pump. The rate of flow of the fluid is proportional to that of the rate of rotation. As the cavities recedes at the end, so they overlap with the other part. Materials that are sensitive and viscous can easily flow through these pumps. These pumps are used in many industries for the steady flow of fluid through it.

There is a helical rotor connected in the progressive cavity pumps. There are also twin helixes connected to the pumps. The rotor is tightly fitted against the rubber stator when it is rotating. The wavelength of the helical rotor is twice to that of the helical hole inside a rubber stator. Due to the sitting arrangement of the rotor and the stator, a cavity formation takes place. The fluid flows into these cavities. ...

If the fluid flows in high pressure, then there are chances of fluid leaking out of the seals in between the cavities. Maintaining of the pressure is an important factor while working with the peristaltic pumps. The well drillings are done with the help of these pumps. It is one of the major applications, carried out with the help of the progressive cavity pumps. Where the pressure of the fluid is high, longer pumps are used to do the tasks in a better way.

In the modern industry, generally pumps with 2 to 12 cavities can be found. The normal slurry pumps that are available are made up of steel and are made up of smooth and hard surfaces like chromium.

The drum pumps are other kinds of pumps. These pumps are used in drums and barrels. The drum pumps are available in different shapes. These are double diaphragms, air, piston, lever, etc. It depends on the size of the container that what type of pump you will use. These pumps are used in different types of barrels. Most drum pumps are used in the 55-gallon barrels. A real container that has an integrated pump system in it is the barrel containers. These are lighter in weight and are safe at use. When you buy these pumps, you will also get a range of accessories like the flowmeters or the dispensing nozzles.
The last kind of pumps that I will say about is the centrifugal pumps or the mag drive pumps. The impeller of the pump rotates at a high speed and vanes are fixed to this pump. The liquid moves from one end to the other with the help of the impeller. These pumps are much affordable and are good in accordance to the environment as sealless pumps are high in demand for their safe and easy use.

Thus, these are few types of pumps, which are mostly used for different industrial purposes. These pumps come in different, shape, color and sizes with the latest technology fitted in them.
