Shift In Consumer Behaviour Intensifies Need For Strong It
With the majority of Canadians now using the Internet daily, businesses in every industry are focusing their attention on making their products available online and engaging their client base in the digital space.
Reports suggest that, in 2010, 82% of urban-dwelling Canadians and 72% of those living in rural areas used the Internet daily. The figures underscore how fully the economy has moved into the digital space. Companies across every industry are rushing to understand how best they can serve their clients.
With so much attention being paid to the Internet, more and more businesses are beginning to appreciate the value of having their computer systems managed by IT professionals who are not necessarily based out of the business’ main office. More large businesses, operated in large cities such as Toronto, are appreciating the value of Toronto IT Outsourcing.
The advantages of IT outsourcing are increasingly apparent as the use of Internet tools expands to every aspect of the economy. In other words, if customers are using the Internet to interact with significant parts of any business, it is prudent ...
... for a business owner to ensure that his or her computer systems are well-managed.
Studies show that in 2010, households with a higher income used the Internet more than those with lower incomes. Similarly, households containing individuals under the age of 45 had the highest rate of use at 94% while 80% of households with those aged 45 to 65 were online consistently.
Among seniors, about half used the Internet daily. The figures related to Internet use dwindled for seniors over the age of 75. More and more people are interacting with businesses via their mobile devices. In 2010, among Internet users in Canada, 33% went online with a wireless handheld device. Most of those individuals were under the age of 35 and many had more than 10 years experience online.
This shift in customer behaviour is intensifying the pressure for the IT aspect of businesses to rely on Managed IT Services. In 2010, about 50% of Internet users ordered goods and services online.
Among those who placed orders online, more than half of them made several orders throughout a twelve month period. Business owners who have adapted their systems to accommodate customers online are being significantly rewarded. In 2010, Canadians placed more than 110 million orders via the Internet, valued at about $15 billion.
