There are number of investment options available but deciding to park your money is very tough. One can invest in various investment avenues but you should choose that investment plan that meets your risk appetite.

In order to derive maximum returns from your investment portfolio, you should diversify your portfolio according to your risk taking capabilities. The investment option can be decided by analyzing various costs associated with them. The investment avenues include mutual funds, unit linked insurance plans, fixed deposits, savings accounts etc. Now, the dilemma arises of how to select high return investment plans. Deciding an investment avenue is never easy and following ...
... are the factors that can help you in selecting your investment plan:

• Charges or costs associated with investments: One should analyze costs associated with investing in any investment opportunity. There are various kinds of costs attached to an investment like mutual funds and units linked insurance plans carry a lock in period and also exit loads. Further, there are administration charges levied if you have taken a ULIP. So, one should compare between these charges and can decide plan giving them higher gains.

• Interest rate: Bank deposits and fixed deposits are safer avenues and they carry interest rate on them. Savings bank deposits carry a fixed rate on interest while interest rate differs for fixed deposits with difference arising due to duration of investment. The more you stay invested in a fixed deposit, higher is the rate of interest. Further, senior citizens are provided with extra incentive as fixed deposits carry high interest rate and lower tax deductions.

• Focus on investing in high return plans: Equity funds or ULIPs are regarded as high return funds. They are more risky as compared to savings account deposits or fixed deposits. They are riskier for that fact that corpus of these investment options is parked in stock markets which are unpredictable and can be volatile. So, people having high risk can invest in equity mutual funds.

So, with the help of above factors with some research and evaluation, one can select their investment option. Various insurance aggregators also provide option of comparison of various investment plans through which you can select the option suiting your needs.
