Television was invented in the same era telephone was invented in. It started being used in the early 30s. It was used both commercially and for entertainment purposes in America. However, the purchase of the television and its usage was not much during the world war but after that the consumption rate elevated at a consistent rate.

It was not until 1948 that TV came on the mainstream. This was a time when people started coming back from war. It was also the time when the American started boasting and was stronger than before. The popularity of cinemas was threatened by the way televisions gained approval and made their way into people’s home. It was then that cinemas adopted the stereoscopic sounds and the cinemascope. People listened to radio before TV and it had gained a lot of popularity too. So when famous radio stars like Lucille Ball started showing up on TV, it became a dominant form of entertainment for people.

Even though TV was invented in the 30s there still were no colored televisions. People used to see black and white images. It was not until the early 60s that TV changed its medium and adapted ...
... to a different format. However, in 1966 colored television started getting common and TV models became practical.

There was absolutely no cable when TV was invented. In 1948 cable was available but it was not used by the TV owners. Its growth was stopped by the FCC. It was in the 1970s that cable started to be used by people. The television industry started growing and many new channels started which were broadcasted on cable. Many of the big channels like MTV started in 1981. Other channels like nickelodeon and central comedy were introduced afterwards.

In the 1980s the objective was to get better quality TV. It was this time when you had to have better quality sound too. So back then when there was an option of stereo in your TVs and for better sounds, you had to switch to stereo.

In 1997 DVDs were introduced which changed the whole home entertainment system. You could easily videotape anything you want from the TV. It changed many things once it was introduced. The Tivo and the DVR were also introduced and they also changed many things in the world of TV as they also digitally record everything from the TV.

Later the smart TVs were introduced. With the help of these TVs you can watch whenever you want by accessing them on the internet which directly connects you to the specific channel you want to watch.

Now there are so many options and brands that it has become difficult to choose the a television for your home. Panasonic offers a diverse range of them. They have plasmas, LCDs, LEDs, you name it, they have them. So if you are confused, go to the Panasonic showroom and ask for help from a salesperson.
