Led Tvs – How Do They Work?
If you remember the TVs of the early 80s, they were heavy and only few of them showed colored images. It was not until the late 90s that the colored televisions became common and gained popularity. It was also in the 90s that the trend of flat screen TVs emerged. Today if we take a look at the market we’ll see that the market is flooding with these flat screen TVs. Today’s market gives you many options of TVs to buy from. You can buy the LCD TVs with large, bulky tubes, the Plasma TVs or the new LED TVs. The LED TVs can easily be hung on a wall as they are light weight. These slim televisions have worked as an innovation which has revolutionized the world of the flat screen TVs.
Now when you want to understand the whole concept of LED TVs it is important that you start by understanding the basics of these TVs. In those cathode tube TVs the screen of the television was hit by electrons and then those electrons were controlled by means of oppositely charged plates and then an image was made on the screen which we get so see by the incoming pattern of electrons. The LED TVs also makes use of a few techniques which make ...
... it work. There are actually two mechanisms. These two mechanisms are either the LED edge or the RGB dynamic. Explained below are these mechanisms and how they function.
1. RGB Dynamic: The RGB Dynamic consists of very high contrast. This high contrast makes the image that we want to view very bright. These RGB dynamics are actually a sequence of red, blue and green LED lights which are set behind the screen. When an image containing one of these colors is projected onto the screen, the region which is containing the image, it starts to glow brighter but with lesser colors. The outside region starts to glow too but it is less bright as compared to the image, the number of colors increases though. The mechanism helps to project images which are sharper and brighter.
2. Edge LED: This mechanism consists of white LEDs at the edges. These include a light diffusing panel just right behind the screen. The task of the panel is to compensate the light coming from the central series of LED and this equalizes the distribution of light. The image that is formed as a result is not as bright as compared to the RGB Dynamic mechanism. If we look at the amount of power that is consumed and the cost of the materials that have been used we will realize how efficient this technology is. Those LED TVs which make use of this technology are said to be the slimmest LCD TVs offered in markets.
Whichever TV you intend to buy, it is imperative that it is of a reliable brand and will have a long life. Panasonic is one such brand that will ensure both.
