Various Olympiads Held For Identifying & Nurturing Talented Students

Every year, the Science Olympiad Foundation organizes four Olympiads, namely the National Cyber Olympiad (NCO), the National Science Olympiad (NSO), the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) and the International English Olympiad (IEO). The major categories of Olympiads include; Science, Computer Science, Mathematics and English. Apart from SOF Olympiads, The NCO (National Cyber Olympiad) is a global search competition that aims at identifying and nurturing cyber talent amongst the youngsters.

Mathematics Olympiads:

The major mathematical Olympiad conducted in India is Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO). The INMO examination is conducted by the MO Cell in February of every year. A student first need to write the Regional Mathematical Olympiad of their respective state or region (usually held sometime between October and December). Around thirty students are selected from each region, to write the INMO.

... event is open to the students of classes 1st to 12th and registrations are received from the schools in the prescribed pro-forma. Registration sheet for the school/students and the information booklet are posted to the schools all over India and abroad.

National Cyber Olympiad:

The NCO (National Cyber Olympiad) tests the cyber talent of the students. The students from classes 2 - 12 are eligible for appearing in it. It is conducted in two levels. The awards given for this Olympiad varies according to the student’s class. All students participating in NCO (2nd level) are also given a Certificate of Merit. The respective school of each student with International Rank from 1 - 3 (both inclusive) is awarded a Cyber Intellect Trophy (CIT) for having the winning students on their rolls.

National Science Olympiad:

The NSO (National Science Olympiad)is one another most prestigious science competitions in Asia. The students from classes 1 - 12 are eligible for appearing in it. It is conducted in two levels. On the basis of the 1st level exam, a School Topper Medal is awarded to every class topper (with minimum 10 enrollments in the class concerned) in each participating school. Selected students appear for a 2nd level examination and according to these 2nd level ranks, the prizes are given. All students participating in NSO (2nd level) are also given a Certificate of Merit. The respective school of each student with International Rank from 1 - 3 (both inclusive) is awarded a Science Intellect Trophy (SIT) for having the winning students on their rolls.

International Biology Olympiad (IBO):

The International Biology Olympiad (IBO) started in 1990. It is an annual event open to pre-university students. It serves as a benchmark for biology education at the higher secondary school level.
