Plastic surgery among men is not often considered to be as popular as it is among women. Traditionally, men are believed to feel naturally confident about their physiques while women are thought to struggle more profoundly with body image.

Men do tend to be more naturally lean, while women gain weight more easily and find it challenging to maintain weight loss. Some of these realities are genetically based, with women needing to gain weight in order to bear children.
