Facebook’s chief executive Mark Zuckerberg admits that the mobile strategy that the company adopted, which targeted HTML5 instead of iOS was a mistake and two years were wasted in the development. He did admit that they relied much on HTML5 rather than opting for native platforms. Apple does encourage iPhone application development team to use its native Cocoa Touch platform to develop iOS apps. At the same it also lends support to HTML5 web apps along with hybrid apps that help in wrapping a web app so that it is visible in the iTunes App Store.

Even though there have been many who have been opposing Apple and not using the native platform instead has depended on HTML5. However, HTML5 is not exactly suited for IOS application development because it achieves not even fraction of the performance of what native platforms offer. There are undoubtedly many advantages as well as disadvantages associated with native platforms that are used as part of iPhone development.

For instance, when iPhone was launched, Apple categorically said that Java applets would not be supported by iPhone application development. ...
... Also, in the initial few months, Adobe Flash was also not supported while they were important for other mobile and web platforms. This propelled IOS application development team to write native apps for IOS, which means an array of mobile software was created. This segment of software that IOS Application development team created followed Apple’s design and security guidelines. Iphone development apps were then marketed through Apple App Store, which offered IOS Application development team the perfect place to create and deploy apps.

However, the hardword that IOS application development team put into creating apps in native IOS platforms for mobile devices couldn’t be easily converted into creating apps for other devices. This means, the closer the code is tied to Apple’s Cocoa Touch, it becomes that much more difficult to adapt it for other platforms such as Android, Java phones and Windows Mobile.
This is the reason that Facebook initially opted for HTML5 development and they hoped that it would help in implementing the same code in any mobile device. However, what became apparent was that Facebook’s largest number of users, which were on iOS had to adapt to the working of a slower app than it was required.

The company finally took notice of this aspect and solved the issue by introducing new and much faster version of its Facebook client that was built on native IOS application development platform. In order to develop its native Facebook app, the company selected IOS application development team that had earlier worked as employees for Apple and were aware of the various aspects needed for developing enhanced Facebook app.

Although Facebook did have the resources to rectify their mistake of depending on HTML5 instead of iPhone development native platform, many iOS developers do not possess a similar bandwidth. Therefore there will be many iOS application development teams that will look at this particular scenario from close quarters and try and learn a lesson so that they do not repeat the same mistake. Undoubtedly, the verdict is out for now it is better to creation iOS application development apps on native platform such as Cocoa Touch than rely on HTML5.

Iphone development apps were then marketed through Apple App Store, which offered IOS Application development team the perfect place to create and deploy apps visit http://www.aegisisc.com/iphone-developers.html
