There was a time when the water and waste water industry had reached a very stagnant state. There was little to no exploration of ideas there and as a result hardly anything new came up. The pump manufacturers liked to stick to what was already there; in other words – what had already been tried and tested. Lack of new ideas obviously led to lack of innovation. The basic idea was clear – pumps were built to transport one liquid from one place to another. However, nobody cared to venture beyond that. There was one niche and almost every pump builder was a little too comfortable in it. You would hardly have found a builder of trash pumps, considering the idea of making submersible pumps. It is not like there was no competition; but it rarely produced anything out of the ordinary. It has been noticed that the popularity of this kind of pumping systems is much more than the others, even more than the chemical pumps. This is because of the fact that there are some basic issues which pose as problems in front of the consumers. For example, we all know that pump is at the center of the matter, but other parts like valves, control, piping, enclosures, tanks, etc. are equally important for completing a pumping system and each pumping system caters to a different kind of requirement. Not very many manufacturers are aware that the specifications of these parts actually dictate the style of the pump, and therefore, its functions. Now, whether a customer is looking forward to buy packaged pumping systems or peristaltic pumps, there is a guideline to be followed. Even though a manufacturer claims that he is an authorized manufacturer of such systems, a customer must consider his years of experience and also ask for a third party’s certification as the proof of the machine’s quality and safety.
