Way To Get From Nasik To Shirdi

Nasik, a religious city in Maharashtra, is situated at the foothills of Western Ghats on the bank of Godavari River. It is believed that Lakshmana had slashed off the nose of Surpanakha here and thus the place is called Nasik which means nose.
Shirdi is better known as the place where the popular saint Shirdi Sai Baba lived and is situated in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra state. Popularly called the 'Land of Sai', Shirdi is considered to be a pilgrimage destination for many Sai devotees throughout the year.
Baba Sai’s teaching mostly combines the elements of Hinduism and Islam.
The Shirdi temple complex which is the main attraction of Shirdi is spread over an area of about 200 square meters. Maruti Temple and Shani Temple, constructed under the supervision of Shirdi Sai Baba, are the other places of attraction in Shirdi. Maruti Mandir is considered being a favourite place of Sai Baba, who used to conduct satsangs here on a regular basis.

Shirdi's railway station, the Sainagar Shirdi Railway Station is just 2 km from Shirdi. Few trains from Nasik stop at Sainagar Station. SNSI LTT Special (01060) and Janshatabdi (01038) connect Nasik and Shirdi.
Most of the trains from Nasik stop only at Kopargaon situated on the Manmad-Daund line, 14 km from Shirdi. The daily trains from Nasik to Kopargaon are Goa express (12779), Nasik-Manmad express (51761), Amarvathi express (17905), Azad Hind express (12129), Saigram express (12749) and Nasik SNSI express (14539). From Kopargaon you can catch a bus or hire a cab to Shirdi.
There is a direct train to Shirdi from Kopargaon, the Lokamanya Tilak-Shirdi express that takes 45 minutes.
One can also catch a train from Nasik and get down at Manmad and catch a bus or cab to Shirdi. Nandigram Express (11402), Gorakpur CSTM (0130), Vidarbha Express (12106), Devagiri Express (17058) and Punjab Mail (12138) are the trains that connect Nasik and Manmad. Manmad station is 58 km away from Shirdi and buses and cabs are available.
The closest airport is Gandhinagar Airport in Nasik. From the airport, express shuttle services and cabs are available to Shirdi.
