Dharamsala came into existence in the year 1849 as a site to accommodate a regiment of the region which was being raised there. The term Dharamsala means a sanctuary for the Hindus. This beautiful place is located at the foot of Dhauladhar. From here, it is possible to get a magnificent view of beautiful lush green hills, peaks covered with snow, tea gardens and pine and deodar forests.
