The First Man On Moon

The landing on the moon by Man is considered one of the greatest milestones in human history. It was a test to see whether Man had developed the technology to survive outside earth and it was the first step to conquer the world beyond our own. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were respectively the first and the second person to set the first step on the moon. They had gone up in Apollo 11 with Neil Armstrong as the mission commander and Aldrin as the lunar module polot, and landed on the moon on the 20th of July, 1969.
Neil Armstong was a NASA test pilot and an astronaut besides being an aerospace engineer, university professor and a US Naval Aviator. He had fought in the Korean War during his air force days. He has flown around 900 flights in various forms of aircraft, which is no mean feat. In his lifetime, he has been a part of major air force and flight programs. He joined NASA in 1962 and his first space trip was aboard the Gemini 8 in the year 1966. ... his landing on the moon in July 1969, he along with Buzz Aldrin spent about two and half hours exploring the surface and brought back valuable data with them. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Congressional Gold Medal and the Congressional Space Medal of Honor, along with various other awards.
Buzz Aldrin was the lunar module pilot in the Apollo 11 which went to the moon. He was the second person to set foot on its surface and he, along with Armstrong explored the surface for a few hours. He was a pilot in the Gemini 12 mission, which was the last of all the Gemini missions. Aldrin is remembered for his works of extra vehicular activity, that is, he helped proved that astronauts could work and survive outside the spacecraft. Aldrin, along with Armstrong set a record time of space walking, until that was broken by the crew of Apollo 14. He was also the first person to hold a religious ceremony on moon. He was awarded numerous honors, including the NASA Distinguished Service Medal and Presidential Medal of Freedom .
Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin have made themselves immortal because of their great achievements and mankind will be proud of them.
