CANCER MEDICATION
Curing Cancer Without the Side Effects
http://www.1st-cancermedication.blogspot.com/
For some time, a definitive cure for cancer has been just out of reach. Researchers and clinicians know that existing drugs could be used to cure cancer if only they were not so toxic to normal tissues. It is impossible to administer cancer medications in doses high enough to eradicate every cancer cell in the body, because at such high doses, the side effects are fatal. All too frequently, the few remaining cancer cells spread to other areas of the body, and kill the patient.
Doctor Kenneth Matsumura has developed a method for eliminating all the side effects of cancer drugs. Laboratory trials have been even more successful than predicted, and clinical trials are about to begin. The first clinical trials will be with breast cancer patients who could not be cured by other therapies.
Cancer drugs have side effects because their action is not limited to cancer cells. The drugs kill any cells that are dividing quickly, especially cells in the bone marrow and the gastrointestinal tract. ...
... This damage to normal tissue leads to the familiar side effects of chemotherapy: Destruction of marrow cells leads to reduction in the number of circulating white blood cells, and increased susceptibility to infections. Damage to the lining of the stomach and intestine causes nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Efforts to mitigate the effects of chemotherapy have focussed on methods of delivering medications exclusively to cancer cells. Dr. Matsumura's research took the opposite approach: He looked for a way to selectively protect normal cells from damage by cancer medications. For most cancer medications, there are antidotes which neutralize the toxic effects . What was needed was to deliver the antidote to normal cells, while leaving cancer cells unprotected. With this technique, high doses of medication can be administered, and only cancerous tissue will be destroyed. Dr. Matsumura has succeeded in delivering the antidote only to normal cells, while leaving cancer cells exposed to the drug. The antidotes are packaged in dendro-microspherules, made of bio-compatible substances. Various techniques have been developed to deliver these microspherules only to normal cells needing protection. When the microspherules are injected into the bloodstream, they circulate through the body until they reach the target cells; then they attach to the target cells which deliver the antidote. Once normal cells have been protected, cancer drugs can be administered in higher doses than has ever been possible. In animal experiments with one drug, huge tumors have been cured after only two injections, and the animals remained healthy after receiving dosages that are usually lethal. Large-scale production of the protective microspherules has been perfected. As soon as clinical trials are completed, the new technology will be available, offering new hope to millions of cancer patients every year.
