Drinking Games A-z: Across The Bridge

Simple rules and easy flow make Across the Bridge a cool drinking game.Sip Score of 3 or moderate, for standard rules (Medium-Sipping game); or 4 star for alternative rules (High-Sipping game)Game Description: The cards tell you what to do; each group of card represents another rule. Play each card in turn to get ‘Across the Bridge.'Number of Players: Minimum of two.You Will Need: A pack of cards, at least one other buddy and generous servings of your favorite alcoholic beverage. How to Play: Sit at a table with your drinks and cards at the ready. Assign one player the role of Dealer; then Dealer doles out ten cards face down in a single straight line representing the ‘bridge' in the title. The first selector takes his turn by flipping over one of the cards in the bridge.Rules of the Game: Each card has a different meaning:NUMBERS 2-10: If the Selector chooses a card numbered 2-10, play continues to the next selector, who flips the next card.COURT CARDS: A selector choosing a suit card must TAKE A DRINK! The precise volume to be downed is determined according to the quantities assigned to each card:JACK: Selector ...
... takes a ONE SIP OF DRINK and places face down on the bridge ONE NEW CARDQUEEN: Selector takes TWO SIPS OF DRINK and places face on the bridge TWO NEW CARDSKING: Selector takes THREE SIPS OF DRINK and places face down on the bridge THREE NEW CARDSACE: Selector takes FOUR SIPS OF DRINK and placed face down on the bridge FOUR NEW CARDSGame play continues with the next player following the same rules etc. Players will be ‘Across the Bridge' when all of the cards have been flipped over and/or the deck is finished, whichever occurs first. The WINNER is the player who flips over the final card. At that point, you can reshuffle and continue playing again if you can muster it!Alternative Rules: If you want to raise the stakes, players can decide to make every Suit card correspond to the respective number of entire glasses of drink rather than just a sip. Make it extra fun with shots so that Jack equals one shooter/glass, Queen is two shooters/glasses, King is three shooters/glasses and Aces if four shooters/glasses. The same rules apply regarding replacing the number of card according to how many sips/shooters/glasses have been consumed the player. You Lose: If you are rolling around drunk by the end of the game due to having continuously selected a Court card and taking sip after sip. Technically, the winner is the player who is the least drunk by the games' end and who has flipped the final card of the pack to make it ‘across the bridge' in one piece!
