Chennai was formerly known as Madras and is located on the Coromandel Coast. It is the capital city of Tamil Nadu and is one of the largest cities in India. The distance from Chengalpattu to Mahabalipuram is 25 km. You can reach Mahabalipuram from Chengalpattu via bus or hire a taxi.

Mahabalipuram is directly connected to Chennai by road. There are many buses that operate seven days a week from Chennai to Mahabalipuram. These buses are operated both by the government agencies as well as private operators. The bus fare depends on the type of bus preferred as well as the amenities offered. Travelling by bus is the easiest way to reach Mahabalipuram from Chennai. But it is not recommended for senior citizens and invalids. You can also hire a taxi from Chennai if you want to have a more comfortable journey. There are many hotels in Chennai and Mahabalipuram that offer quality services.
