Hemorrhoids or piles are swollen or dilated blood vessels in the rectum or anus. Hemorrhoids usually occur in people who are pregnant and to those who are always constipated. When pregnant, there is much pressure present due to the enlarged uterus and this causes the hemorrhoids. When you are always straining in bowel movements, much pressure is applied in the blood vessels surrounding the anus which makes them dilated. Hemorrhoids can cause bleeding and mild to moderate pain. Because of this, you may be uncomfortable when sitting for long hours. Before you use any medications for hemorrhoids, try using the herbs for hemorrhoids which are proven safe and effective. Continue reading below to know more about it.

The most famous herb used for treating hemorrhoids is witch hazel. This is very effective but you have to remember to buy high quality witch hazel. Get some clean pads and soak these in witch hazel solution. Apply these over your anus. Witch hazel is a healing tree and an astringent. It has a cooling effect which will repair and nourish the blood vessels.

Another of the herbs for hemorrhoids is butcher’s ...
... broom. This shrub is the low-growing evergreen variety. It is also known as sweet broom or box holly. The root of this shrub is the part used when making medicinal substances. For over 2000 years, butcher’s broom has been used for treating several circulatory problems especially those related with the veins. It has been an effective treatment for hemorrhoids because it contains neuruscogenin and ruscogenin which make the blood vessels constricted.

Aloe vera is also used for treating hemorrhoids. This succulent plant is found native in several places in Africa. Because you have hemorrhoids, it will be better if you will plant some aloe vera in your backyard. This will easily grow and is not sensitive so you won’t have difficulty growing it. The clear gel found inside its leaves is commonly used when treating wounds, sun burn, burns and hemorrhoids. Aloe vera helps stop the bleeding and reduce the pain. To get the gel inside, you simply have to break off the leaves. Get a clean cotton ball to scoop out the gel and apply this to your hemorrhoids. If you haven’t used aloe vera before, you have to test first if you are allergic to it or not. To do so, just apply some of its gel to a small patch of your skin.

You may use blond psyllium, too. This is derived from the herb Plantago ovata’s seed and outer covering. This is specifically used as a laxative and stool softener. As said earlier, hemorrhoids are also caused by constipation. Psyllium helps provide soluble fiber which stimulates elimination.

By using the herbs for hemorrhoids mentioned above, you will be able to get rid of hemorrhoids. But you have to remember that you must also have a high-fiber diet and that you have to exercise regularly. If your hemorrhoids do not go away, you must consult your doctor about it as you may need surgery to get rid of it.
