This is an issue we receive on a regular basis, and with good reason. From a incredibly early age we're taught to adore diamonds. We are taught that they are surely incredibly important. Once we look at hollywood, we see everybody trying to take precious gems; this will usually be diamond gems, emeralds, rubies or a whole variety of gems. We continuously observe advertising in regards to the diamond or the ruby inside the ring or necklace or bracelet. You never hear the jewelry ad pushing the gold or platinum the stone is laid in. Subsequently, as a civilization we are of the perception that gem stones are worth a lot. In fact, most people believe they are worth thousands of dollars. And much more significantly, almost all people suppose the gem stones are more precious then the scrap gold around the gem. After buying scrap gold for 3 years and looking at literally 1,000's of ounces of precious metals, We are able to letting you know this isn't the case. Now and again we will look at a diamond that is definitely worth a few thousand dollars. Although the other 99.9% of the time, this is just not the reality. We learned this at ...
... quite an early stage of purchasing gold. We had one patron that had, what she presented to be: "rare-African diamonds." At this time, we did not actually have a diamond tester. We believed the lady's story and informed her we had no use for her diamonds because we did not have anybody to market them to. To get her business, we settled to take the gem stones and try to sell them for the lady for free. What we discovered was extremely interesting. We thought there would positively be jewelers interested by extraordinary-African diamonds. Accordingly we picked up the telephone and started calling all of the neighboring, jewelery stores we could come across. We ended up shocked. All and I mean every discussions went just like this:Hello, I have 4 uncommon-African diamonds I'm looking to put up for sale.Okay, are the diamonds at the very least a whole karat each?I'm sorry. Are you asking if they're apiece a whole karat?Yes sir.Unfortunately I think they are simply a quarter karat apiece.Okay, in that case we are not interested in buying them. But they're rare-African diamonds and look very beautiful.Sorry sir, we don't examine diamonds less than a karat in size, now and then we will consider taking a look at a diamond if it's not less than a 1/2 karat, but we are definitely not in the market for 1/4 karat despite where they arrived from.Very well, thank you for your help. Each telephone call was similar to that. Consequently in our understanding, diamonds had no importance to us since we didn't know someone that may purchase them from our company.Fast forward a year. Since the majority leave the diamonds in their gold, we do get them out and hold on to them because, well why wouldn't a person? Finally, a gentleman came by our store. He informed us he was from Houston, Texas and would like to buy any loose diamonds and gems from our corporation. This was a first for us, so we assumed, why not?We had gathered approximately forty karats of diamond gems by this point. He studied them over and offered us an offer of three hundred dollars. Three hundred dollars. For a reasonably sufficient sized plastic bag of diamonds. We countered with five-hundred dollars. I mean heck, this guy was the only man that was trying to purchase them, and we could have definitely used five-hundred dollars then. The gentleman rejected our offer and left. We were in absolute dismay. Merely three hundred dollars for this many gem stones. What is going on here? Consequently from that minute onward, we have determined to keep away from the gem business. We are more then willing to pull out diamonds for patrons that want to preserve them for various reasons, nevertheless we have no intent on buying gem stones to try and re-sale. We hope this clears the air on why we function the way in which we do.For more information visit, http://www.OKCGoldBuyers.com or watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7cq75A2Rzw.
