Medical Weight Loss Atlanta-shapemed
There is a constant battle that rages in a significant proportion of homes throughout the United States, and it is the weight loss battle. No one is immune to this war because whether it touches you directly or not, it is most likely affecting someone you care about. Just like any major battle, a strictly defensive strategy will not win the war. You must be proactive and go on the offense to beat the weight before it beats you!
The first step to a good offense is to plan. Put pen to paper and strategize! What are your weaknesses: chocolate, sodas, fried food or creamy sauces? What are your strengths: love the outdoors, like trying new recipes, do you have children or pets?
Once you acknowledge, and have written down, your weaknesses and strengths, account for both by building them into your strategic weight loss plan. For example, if your weakness is fried food, allow yourself one meal consisting of something fried per week or once a month. This is not permission to sit down once a month with a box of fried chicken. This is permission to eat one small serving of French fries with a grilled chicken breast, or ...
... one piece of fried fish with grilled veggies once a week.
Depriving yourself of what you enjoy will only make you crave it more. By allowing yourself to minimally indulge with strict parameters, set by you, you will be more likely to succeed!
Once you have accounted for all of your weaknesses and have your strategic weight loss plan to overcome them, do the same thing for your strengths. Maybe you feel that you do not have the time to formally exercise because you are a full time mom on top of having a full time job.
Children and pets are a strategic, and enjoyable, way to get exercise. Play tag in the back yard or at the park. Enjoy a game of Frisbee or catch with your children after school daily. Explore new parks, new neighborhoods or city festivals on the weekends with your family, friends or pet. Anything that gets you moving will help in your weight loss battle.
The first step to winning the war on weight loss is to strategize and come up with a good offensive plan which includes accounting for your weaknesses and strengths and figuring out how to incorporate both to create an enjoyable lifestyle you can maintain to ultimately win the war.
