As the year progresses into September, things start to warm up for the entire Southern Hemisphere. The trees start getting their leaves back, flowers and blossoms start to appear everywhere and you have the perfect excuse to get out and about somewhere. You can take some good company along for the ride and you can pack the car with good foods and some wine to top it all off. If you live in Sydney and you need an excuse to get out the city for a while, you can wait for the right moment to kidnap some of your mates and head for the outskirts without a second thought. If you are just heading out that way for the day then all you need to do is pack a lunch to take with you, something to drink and some good company.

It’s usually a good idea to stock up on supplies before you embark on your little trip, but that might a bit difficult if you are doing it spontaneously. All you need to do then is search food and wine Sydney to get a list of places that will have exactly what you are looking for. You can pick out a store that is on the way to your destination ...
... or you can pick one the one that is closest if it’s an emergency. If there is nothing that really interests you out that way, then you can always head to the harbour and take a boat trip out of the harbour and spend the day at sea. The small lunch you packed might not go down so well on the water and it might be safer not to eat anything if your stomach can’t handle it. If the water is not for you, then perhaps you can try The Rocks for a few hours. You might get lucky and see a live band performing, and they often have small events running there that keeps visitors entertained in one way or another. If all else fails, you can sit down at a pub and have a few drinks before heading back home. The harbour and The Rocks are all close to public transport routes so you don’t have to worry about driving home.

It doesn’t really matter where you go or who you take with you, what matters is that you get out there to experience the change of seasons first hand and finally rid yourself of those winter blues. You’ll find that even a small change like that is as good as a holiday.
