Australian Invention “kableflags†Go Gold In Geneva
On Friday, 9 April 2005, the Australian inventors of Kableflags, Joe Diaz and Rabih Moughelbay were awarded a Gold Medal at the 33rd International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva, Switzerland.
Their simple but groundbreaking product ‘Kableflags' took out the Gold Medal in the Commercial, Industrial and Office Equipment category, and the honour was also extended with a special congratulations from the judges, giving further distinction to the prize.
The prize was awarded by a 70-member jury with representatives from around the world. The International Exhibition of Inventions is the largest show of its kind in the world. With over 1,000 new inventions exhibited this year, the show attracted 65,000 visitors from five continents.
Company director and inventor, Rabih Moughelbay who attended the convention says, The response at the show has been fabulous with the Europeans itching to be Kableflagged, Rabih also added that We've sold millions of Kableflags in Australia over the last 2 years so it's great to see the enthusiasm spreading internationally.
In the days following the ...
... exhibition, Rabih has meetings scheduled with several major European retailers and says that winning gold will be a boon to his pitch. The recognition from this award will go a long way towards selling the product before I even have to say a word.
Kableflags has also just signed a Heads of Agreement deal for distribution throughout the United Kingdom and the United States as well as promising offers from Asian distributors.
Kableflags are the result of a very simple idea that arose when Rabih accidentally unplugged a fax machine. Rabih missed out on a very lucrative deal but came up with something that would eventually be far more profitable - a small plastic tag designed to identify cords.
With his winning idea, Rabih partnered with his then business advisor Joe Diaz to make Kableflags a reality. The pair have a hands on approach to the business and are pivotal in all decisions of the Kableflags business including materials, packaging, marketing and sales.
Kableflags are now sold at over 550 stores throughout Australia including major retailers such as Bunnings, Officeworks, Myer, K-Mart and Australia Post in South Australia & Northern Territory.
Kableflags are available in a variety of conveniently themed packs of ten flags including Home Entertainment (TV, DVD, VCR, etc), Office (Computer, Printer, Scanner etc), Home Theatre (DVD Player, Set Top Box, AV Receiver, etc) Computer Cables (Monitor, Speakers, Mouse, etc), Home Tools (Drill, Router, Sander, etc), Kitchen (Toaster, Kettle, Juicer, etc) and DIY Blanks (easy to write on blanks for convenience). Kableflags retail from $9.95 and can be purchased from major retailers.
