The Simpsons is an American series based on the genre comedy and satire. It is an animated series displaying comedy in almost each character. It is the brainchild of Matt Groening in association with Fox Broadcasting Company. The series exhibits the American culture through the central characters belonging to the family of Simpsons. The title of the series has been taken from the surname of the protagonist family. The kinspersons are Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. A dog and a cat are the pets at the house. The lead characters are the creation of Groening. He conceived the idea along with the producer of the show James L. Brooks. It was declared as the Best Television Series of 20th Century in Time magazine, December 31, 2009. The characters also made their position in Hollywood Walk of Fame by receiving a star. The series has left its imprints on many adult-oriented animated series.
The Simpsons are a dysfunctional family who reside in Springfield. The father, Homer works at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant as a safety inspector. He is very careless and clownish character. His better half Marge Simpson is an unimaginative lady. She is a housewife and a homely mother of three kids named Bart, Lisa and Maggie. Bart is a 10-year old boy who usually makes mess of all the things around. Lisa is precocious child who is just eight years old. Maggie is an infant and do not speak at all. She tries to communicate by biting on her pacifier. The dog, Santa’s Little Helper, and a cat, Snowball II are the pets having important roles in the show. This is the most happening family and usually celebrates the occasions like birthdays, holidays together. They appear as the youngest class of the town ever. Although they all are busy in their own lives yet they get time to spend with each other. They have a sense of care and affection for one another.
