Mining camps are located away from high traffic areas. Miners come away from their homes and family to work at the mining sites. For this reason mining companies pay special attention to mining camp construction. Working areas, offices and accommodations are included in the mining camp design so that workers stay productive. The camps are provided with basic to high level of facilities.

Since mining areas are secluded swathes of land, the need to keep them tightly connected externally and internally is high. Accommodation facilities are almost real home-like. There are modular kitchens, dining areas, storage rooms and community halls. Caterers supply food regularly. There are simple yet functional bed rooms. Laundry services are available in the camp sites. Recreational centers provide a break from the monotony and rigor of work. Other than these, there are bathrooms and rest rooms too. Washing and dry-clean facilities are present in all standard mining camps. In short, these camps or mining villages resemble tiny community villages.

The plan for the camp is such ...
... that quick modifications are made whenever needed. Since most of the accommodation site is one continuous stretch of building, any slight malfunctioning triggers a series of reactions. On the other hand, modern introductions such as mobile staff quarters de-stress the vital links to a large extent. Prompt healthcare is a great boost of confidence. The camps undergo periodic inspections and maintenance.

With rising number of mining sites and public awareness, accommodations of miners have improved. The hard work that they put in can’t be compensated. However mining companies see to it that their safety and basic needs are never compromised. That’s the reason mining camp construction jobs are on the rise. Both small and large companies are getting involved in mining camp design to give their staff the work culture and benefits they deserve.
