Get a clear idea of the project plan before the work commences and consider the aspects like communication, employee cabins, noise disturbance, plumbing and emergency breakout areas. Also, take care of the legal factor of the entire project. Once the blue-print of the project is created, you must submit it to the landlord and get his approval. This is mandatory in the eyes of law and failing to follow it can lead to unnecessary complications in the near future. Regularly co-ordinate with the project manager - once the job is done; check that everything that you were promised in the blue-print has been looked after. Sign off the project only after you are completely happy with the work.
