It is easy to enjoy a great holiday in Toledo as the general orientation of this city is quite straightforward. The ancient city is connected by the Tajo with the new quarters found on the other side of the city bridges.

Transportation

There are regular and plenty of local train services plying the city routes every day catering to the travel needs of the locals and tourists. Numerous buses come by half hourly from the city station, Estación Sur. This is one of the interesting and unique sights in Toledo. This impressive mock-Mudéjar creation was built in 1919 along Paseo de la Rosa.

On the other hand, the city bus station is located at the more modern section of the city at the lower district on Castilla la Mancha Avenue. Buses are plentiful and frequent at Toledo to allow tourists an easy drop off at any point in their exploration quest of the city. They can walk through the city barrio located at the hill bottom to reach Puerta Nueva de Bisagra in 10 minutes.

Driving is possible in Toledo although there may be some difficulties with public parking as Toledo offers limited public parking facilities. ...
... There is only one 24-hour parking facility at Paseo del Miradero which charges quite high. The better alternative is to park at the hotel’s parking facilities and use the efficient public transportation in Toledo.

History

Toledo offers many lovely ancient monuments from its rich array of historical ventures. The Romans established Toledo as a fortified town during medieval times with many grand monuments as well as its famed steel production. The Gothic epoch before 1560 established much of Toledo’s splendid medieval architecture as the nation’s capital with a rich middle age history. There is a lot of well refined artistry and cuisine available in Toledo.

Different epochs impacted Toledo differently as can be viewed through the respective ancient monuments from the Gothic, Roman, Moorish and Christian empires. Synagogues stand with cathedrals which have been very well preserved until this day.

Attractions

Toledo’s national museum called the National Monument houses many of the city and nation’s historical pieces in the forms of pictures, photographs and artifacts. However, the tourists would benefit more from the myriad of ancient treasures standing around the city for their personal discovery, barcelona.

La Mancha offers interesting Paleolithic to Middle Age discoveries in various ancient monuments such as towers, churches, synagogues and mosques.

There are plenty of interesting Roman remains with Renaissance era palaces that come with intrinsic art pieces. La Mancha is also famous for its exquisite windmills and Cervantes figures.
