Malaga’s Unique Picasso Museum
Picasso lives through his art which is well displayed all over the world; especially in Malaga. Three decades later, the late Picasso’s soul grabs attention from his many marvelous masterpieces. In Malaga, Picasso is highly honored as this town is his birthplace and hometown. There is a specially erected museum dedicated to display Picasso’s masterpieces; it is called the Museo Picasso.

This special museum is part of an ancient palace in the old quarters of Malaga. It has been specifically restored to house Picasso’s masterpieces. Its location is 5 minutes from Picasso’s actual birthplace.
Pablo Picasso was recognized as the greatest artist of his time. His works put Malaga on international renown. There are numerous 12th century art pieces by Picasso in Malaga although two other museums outside of Spain hold some of the great artist’s works too.
Picasso is the art icon to all budding artists around the world who aspire success in art with Picasso’s unique style and techniques.

... Palace which is well preserved with some renovation to house Picasso’s artworks. This ancient palace is a typical Andalusian styled building with large rooms. Its architecture was an influence of Mudejar and Renaissance. The Andalusian architecture was added on by Christine Ruiz Picasso who financed the renovation works to reflect appropriately Picasso’s artwork in its full grandeur.
The 12 halls in this special museum display about 200 of Picasso’s art pieces which are known as the ‘permanent’ collection. Four large halls form an art gallery to house temporary exhibits. One can find a promotion center, a library, an assembly hall and an educational department in this museum.
The permanent Picasso collection was donated or loaned by the great artist’s daughter-in-law, Christine Ruiz-Picasso, to this Malaga museum. Many of Picasso’s famous pieces are either from his daughter-in-law’s personal collection or from Picasso’s grandson’s personal collection.
These magnificent art pieces of Picasso are deemed as heritage collections that are considered priceless; many of which have not been released for public viewing before. These include the 1917 Olga Kokhlova, 1923 Gorro Blanco and the Madre y niño.
Exhibitions
Picasso’s museum houses not only his art paintings but also his ceramic works. Many traditional pieces reflecting the location costa brava espagne Mediterranean history can be found in this museum.
