Brisbane is the third largest city in Australia and it has a reputation for being one of the sunniest cities in the southern hemisphere, because it experiences good weather for most of the year. However, during winter they experience about two or three weeks worth of very cold weather where the early morning temperatures tend to dance around the zero mark and things get rather chilly. If you are on holiday during that time, then at least you have the perfect excuse for sleeping in a bit and you can lie in bed watching television while you enjoy your breakfast from room service. Brisbane is located further north up the coast from Sydney and it has been built around the Brisbane river which flows out into the South Pacific Ocean.

When you stay in Brisbane you have a choice of staying in the city centre, somewhere along coast or you can book a suite that overlooks the river. Hotelurban.com.au is a great place to stay if you are visiting Brisbane for a few days, as they are perfectly located to give you full access to the city’s transport system so you can get around at least. ...
... You can also book a hotel room for as many people as you like. They have singles, doubles and twin rooms available to their guests and each room is fully serviced and well decorated with a sleek and modern look. The Brisbane winter festival is on from July through to August and you can experience an Australian winter wonderland with an alpine lodge and outdoor ice skating rink. You can enjoy foods from the Swiss Alps while drinking hot chocolate with your family, and then you can try your hand at ice-skating on the biggest outdoor ice-rink ever made. Brisbane itself still has lots for you to do there. You can take a boat ride upriver to explore further inland. If you love horses then you can spend a day at the races with the Brisbane Winter racing carnival. You can watch a bit of racing, place one or two bets if you game for that and then you can sit and shout for your horse as the races start. There are plenty places nearby that are great to visit, including Moreton Bay, the Brisbane River and the mountainous national parks where you can get some fresh country air for a change.

Brisbane is really a beautiful city and even though it’s other two counterparts are bigger, there is still lots to do when you finally get there.
