Modern printing devices print your papers and household images either with liquid ink or toner. It's only a matter of taste as to which of the two is better for your particular printing needs. If you're looking to spend less cash per sheet, you may need a laser toner.

While inkjet printing leads the printing market, many establishments favor laser printing devices for quicker, quieter, and more affordable printing. Laser toner is a powdery substance dyed with a particular hue. Toner would not bond with paper unless used by a laser printer. Laser printing depends on an electrical charge produced by the fuser for the powder to adhere to the paper.

Ironically, printing with inkjets and printing with laser are developed on contradicting concepts. For the latter, the printer doesn't put the pigment to the paper; rather, the paper has to get the pigment from the printing device. In fact, the toner doesn't work as a liquid-like ink until the fuser melts the polymer to assist the toner adhere to the paper.

Printing with laser printer toner has a few pros, especially ...
... in terms of picture quality. Inkjet printing is capable of producing high quality results. However, if you touch the ink fresh from the printing device, you may smear the image. Since laser toners are dry and the fuser does a superb job of making the pigment adhere to the paper, a laser printing device is more capable of producing instant long-term pictures on paper.

Toners are still widely used even in an industry dominated by home computer users with their inkjet printers. One excellent application of this modern technology is in photocopiers. These appliances make it possible for lots of copies to be produced in a short span of time. In places where copying is a kind of business, the toner-based printing device keeps the price per sheet down to an average of $ 0.02. Of course, printing device companies such as Canon and Hewlett-Packard (HP) also offer a few toner printing device variants.
