Job Boards
Job hunting can be hard; especially with so many things to consider... role, location, company, salary. Unfortunately, searching for your perfect job can take a long time. Using an online job board can be extremely helpful. They provide the free service to search, find and apply to hundreds of jobs quickly and easily. It's best not to just stick to looking through the newspapers or waiting outside shop windows for the latest vacancy though; as most employers now use the internet and recruitment agencies to hire new staff.
First, think about the role you really want to apply for and why you are drawn to this particular position or sector. When applying for jobs, you need to be sure of each and every position you apply for because potential employers will ask you this in interviews and you need to come across as passionate, interested and knowledgeable in the specific area.
Online Job boards can be extremely helpful as you can find hundreds of jobs all in one search and apply within seconds with your preregistered CV and details. However, with job boards, many candidates ...
... get carried away and end up applying for any job, which may not be relevant to their career at all. Always make sure your applying for a job you actually want, otherwise your just wasting everyone’s time.
Job boards usually allow you to keep track of which vacancies you've applied for, so you wont get confused. Thousands of recruiters can view your CV at the click of a button, so by registering with an online job board, you may even have the employers coming to you!
Going onto individual websites, finding (if any) listed vacancies and filling out each unique application form can be extremely time consuming. These networks are fast and easy and allow you to apply for several jobs in minutes.
When applying for jobs always make sure your CV and personal details are up to date and as truthful as possible. Always double check over your CV and covering letter to ensure no mistakes. It may even help getting a friend or family member to read through to make sure it all makes sense. Errors in your CV can be very off putting to prospective employers as they make you look unprofessional. CV-Library offers great advice on job hunting and interview tips.
CV-Library is one of the UK's leading online job boards and they are dedicated to helping candidates find the job they want through their 60,000 jobs database.
