Gianni Truvianni's Inspiration For Writing “what Should Not Matterâ€

I would like to acknowledge that the personality of Rosa; the fictional character from my 3rd book What Should Not Matter is based upon several Latinas (this word meaning ladies from Latin America) I met during my time in South America; who like Rosa have a passion for life that shows in everything they do but most of all in the way they act. These ways include manners of speech and hand gestures common to them in expressing themselves which is sort of like Italians but different in its being South or Central American.
Where the idea for the character of Rosa Diaz O'Leary came to me from many Latinas, her physical appearance or what I pictured her looking like while writing the story is a Mexican singer/actress whose name is Bibi Gaytan. Many outside Mexico may not know who Bibi Gaytan is but those that do can imagine the look I had in mind for Rosa and to those who don't know who Bibi Gaytan is I suggest they check her out on YouTube. They can catch her in music videos from when she was a member of a group called Munecos De Papel.
Regarding the character and the look of Britta Swen, (the second main character ...
... in my book) she is a creation of my imagination based on my perception of the Nordic female which came about during my trips to Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. However if it be her religious concepts which play a large part of this story; they are based on my observations on how I believe some Christian's perceive God and heaven in connection to life on earth which in my opinion they fear. It being their desire to seek eternal life in another world that makes them dread the traps of this one which they consider to be dangers to be avoided if one wishes to seek a place in God's eternal kingdom which the bible says will arrive once the world has come to an end.
Actually with regards to this concept it was a Polish catholic who reveled to me that her biggest fear was not that of dying but living on. Given what I knew of this person's religious believes which like most catholic believes differed from the bible I deducted for myself though she never confirmed or denied my theories which in truth I never exposed to her that her trepidation was one of sinning which in her mind might have put her out of God's favor and since sin can only be committed by the living henceforth came her fear of living on. I even gathered that what kept her from taking manners in her own hand as well as her own life was knowledge that such an act would be regarded as a sin that surely would have cast her out of all consideration for entering God's kingdom. It was based on this person's believes (and many others like her) that I created the character of Britta Swen.
Those who read What Should Not Matter will also discover for themselves that Rosa has a brother and in fact this character was named after a Puerto Rican high school friend of mine. It actually was from the Manuel Diaz I went to school with and his being a great boxing fan that I got the idea of making the Manuel Diaz in What Should Not Matter a boxer from Panama. This in part because of Roberto Duran (manos de piedra) and all the great culture I was introduced to once by a friend of my sister from Panama. However if truth be told the character in my book Manuel Diaz gets a lot of his personality from a certain Dominican by name of Eduardo Perez who worked in the same mutual funds department at John Hancock Clearing Corporation as I did. As for Eduardo Perez, he had a way of speaking which was interesting in its directness; all of which made him not only a nice person to know but to work with as well and though we were not really friends, I could say we had a friendly relationship.
The remaining characters in What Should Not Matter are also fictitious but unlike Rosa, Britta and Manual are not inspired by any one person or group of people.
