Hose is a hollow tube, which is designed to carry fluids from one location to another. They are very similar to that of pipes. However, a pipe is a rigid one, while the hose is flexible. For the fluids to be carried from one hose to another, one will have to adopt the concept of hose couplings. These couplings are referred to as the connector at the end of each hose which connects one hose to another.

There are a variety of couplings available in the market. The best ones are the couplings made of iron and brass, and the Air King can be a good choice in that case. A Cam and groove is a quick connecting fluid transfer. It poses a male adapter and a female coupler. It allows the transfer of compressed air or steam, and the Ground joint can be of good use. The Guillemin symmetrical clutch is quite popular in France and Belgium amongst the firefighters where the fighters need to couple the fire hoses.

In case of transferring chemicals, a specific kind of chemical hose is ...
... used. However, the coupling that is to be selected will have to be chosen with great care. A chemical leak can cause hazardous effects. The couplings are available in numerous stores which are easily approachable. But, as a word of caution, it is important to take care of length and diameter before the purchase.
