The British government has passed a provision in 2006 which primarily concerns the learning and development of infants. This provision states that each child from the age of 1 to 5 should be given the basic foundation knowledge about things like animals, birds, shapes and colours. So when their join primary school it becomes easy for them to understand things as well as what other people are saying to them. This is what we generally know as EYFS. During the Early Years it is necessary that each child undergoes the foundation stage at their own pace.
