Thrush or otherwise known as candidiasis, moniliasis or candiosis is a disease that occurs due to uncontrollable yeast growth. Normally yeast is seen to be growing on a human body but our immune system produces enough bacteria to control this growth and prevent any damage. When our immune system is unable to further produce any bacteria or produces it in amount less than required the balance of yeast to bacteria growth is shaken and the yeast growth starts affecting our body. This yeast is infection very much more common in females though a large number of males have also seen to be experiencing this painful infection.

Males also experience a weird discharge of white substance from their male. This has the consistency of cottage cheese and can be thick or thin.

The question is, is the thrush contagious? The thrush is contagious but one must have a weak immune system themselves too. The symptoms of the male thrush are similar to that of the physically transmitted infection and hence if it happens for the first time it can only be confirmed by your GP. The thrush in males should immediately be treated because if allowed to grown it may take more extreme shape and may become fatal.
