Coffee, one of the most favored beverages around the world, is known for its tantalizing aroma which reaches us before the taste. For many of us, coffee breathes in life into us early morning to wake up to a new day with a cheerful mood. Getting a fresh start for the day makes one go through it with vigor and enthusiasm. Coffee is liked by many and the reason to like coffee could vary from person to person. It is liked all over the world for its aroma, sweetness, strong taste, for staying alert and so on. Whatever the reason, it is one of the most consumed beverages around the world.

India is one of the largest producers of superior quality coffee which contributes greatly to the international market. It is grown in large quantities in the southern Indian states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala and also in some parts of North India. The coffee grown in the shade in these states is considered to be of superior quality when compared to the coffee grown in direct sunlight around the world. It is one of the commercial crops in India which has a huge domestic and international market which is a great source of revenue.

... main two species of coffee grown world wide are Arabica and Robusta. Arabica is a widely grown variety which has a wider range when it comes to taste and varieties. Both roasted and unroasted Arabica coffee beans have fruity notes and sugary tones when it comes to aroma. It is delicate and is prone to attack from pests, vulnerable to cold and bad handling. Arabica is the coffee which is widely used to create variety of blends to cater to the needs of the large clientele.

Robusta on the other hand ranges from neutral to harsh. These are hardier plants and are subject to lesser problems like pest and rough handling and the yield is also higher with a lower cost of production in comparison to Arabica. Robusta, which is not ideal to be used directly, is added to create blends like espresso.

Globalization of the market has led to changes in the coffee market too. Due to there are innumerable coffee brands available with a large number of blends. Tariero Artisan Roastery of Pune offers various blends of quality coffee under its collector’s series, classic collection, Avant Garde collection, Limited Edition and Daily Grind series.

The Rogue River blend of the Espresso collection is a heavy coffee with a bold body with deep chocolate notes and hints of berries. It is good to be used with milk and comes with higher caffeine.

The Salmon River blend is a 100% Arabica blend with the mild soft notes and medium body to be enjoyed as black coffee or espresso.

The Willamette River blend with its non-conventional and non-traditional flavors is ideal for moka-pot or French press with a dash of milk.

The Single Estate Peaberry is a light bodied coffee with medium crispiness and acidity, with the reminiscent of vanilla and pepper grown on the estate is considered to be one of the graceful coffees.

The Mulnomah Falls blend coffee is a blend of high-grown Arabica and Robusta is ideal to be used in filters or moka-pot.

The Palaruvi Waterfall Blend which is enjoyed with milk and sugar is ideal for filter coffee.
